What's special about Amazing Miracles of Padre Pio, is that, as far as I know, most of these wonderful, documented stories of the miracles and mystical happenings of Padre Pio, have been published in Italian -- but not in English. .
In the days before Padre Pio's great spiritual feats became known worldwide, he was known mostly in Italy, and many books were written about him in Italian, describing his wonders and inexplicable mystical events. After the Second World War Padre Pio's fame as the stigmatist-friar whose intercessory prayers obtained miracles, spread over the globe. His presence on the Gargano mountain drew millions of visitors and pilgrimages -- and although he is dead since 1968 this pilgrim trail is busier than ever, because the miracles continue. Later books were written about him in English, describing new miracles, but the earlier books in Italian were not translated and published.

I've been reading about Padre Pio for decades and was blessed to have 'experienced' him in person with my family. I knew about the Italian books but although I speak some Italian, it would have taken me ages to stumble my way through them. I did manage to track down a few of these legends, but I always longed for what as yet had not been told -- it was like a faraway pulse beckoning from the Italian pages.
